Birthday Wishes

I take no credit for the design of this card; I CASED it from Jen at iheart2stamp. Jen's card popped out at me with the bright colours and her use of the punches and the placement of her sentiment as well as the paper and how she tied...actually everything about this card is so bright and cheerful. I love it!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, WOW Flowers
Paper: Cottage Wall DSP, Old Olive, Perfect Plumb, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black
Embellishments: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Olive Dew Drops (not SU!), CUrly Label Punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches, dimensionals
I stamped two of the balloons on the Cottage Wall DSP and pieced them onto the Whisper White cardstock for added appeal.

Crazy for Cupcakes

I thought I would take a try at Kristina Werners' colour challenge #38. I have never tried a sketch/colour challenge before but when I saw the colours I thought why not. The colours spoke "happy" and "little girls" so I chose the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set from Stampin' Up!
As I mentioned earlier in the New Year I was going to pull the theme through to the inside of the card so here it is.

Recipe:
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Paper: Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Always DP
Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker
Embellishments: Brads, dimensionals, slot punch, small and large oval punch
This is one of the cards we will make for the Birthday Card Class coming up on Feb. 5/09 at 7pm

Another Reason to Celebrate

Little Sophie's first birthday is next week and I wanted to make her a card using Crazy for Cupcakes (which is on sale right now; see the add on the right side bar for details) because of the large cupcake with one candle and my favourite Designer Paper Bella Rose. (Click on photo to enlarge)
I paper pieced the bottom of the cupcake and candle with designer paper and decorated the cupcake with pink and red brads. I really like the effect of using the slot punch on the left side and balance the card with the oval sentiment.
Recipe:
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Family Phrases
Ink: Basic Black, Pink Piroutette, Barely Banana stampin' write marker
Paper: Bella Rose Designer Paper, choclate chip, whisper white, pink pirouette
Embellishments: Soft Subtle Brads, Bold Brights Brads. small & medium oval punch, slot punch
Happy First Birhtday Sophie!
