Pop-Up Card Challenge

When it comes to fashion, I always feel I am slow to catch on to the latest trend.

Actually, I tend to be a bit conservative in everything I do; including stamping.

It was not until I saw what Heather had created using the new Pop-Up die from Stampin' Up! that I fell in love with it.

Heather had given everyone in her downline the pieces to build our own idea and I could hardly wait to get at it. I have had the package from Heather for a week and finally got to making my Pop-Up card.

I used a stamp set that is now retried but when I saw the colours of card stock Heather had sent me, all I thought of is a little princess.

I made the card up last night, took the photos this morning and gave the card away already to a little princess who just turned one. I hope you like it Elysse!

Thanks for stopping by stampers-I know it has bee a few weeks since my last post. I will try to be more disciplined in this area.

I have to say I was flattered when a friend of mine asked me to design an invitation for a special group of young ladies who attend the Upper Deck here in Tillsonburg.

The Upper Deck/YFC (Youth For Christ) is a drop in centre for youth where they can feel safe, accepted, and most of know the love of Jesus Christ.

The invitation had to be soft, feminine and special. I say "special" becasue the girls receiving these invitaitons are special although they did not think so in the beginning.

The girls complete a 10-12 week coarse where they learn to love and respect themselves. They build self confidence, self esteem and values. Upon completion of this program each young lady will be invited to a special celebration and it is a big deal. I am not sure of the all the details but I was excited about this challenge and could not wait to get to work on it.

The top card was my first sample but wished I had used ribbon to soften the look so that is how I came about the bottom sample.

Our little girl is growing up fast. Nicole turned 12 on June 18 so I thought I would make a card for her using the "Perfect Princess" stamp set. Nicole loves anything that gliitters so I added dazzling diamonds around the crown and added a pink brad in the centre.
