Packages wrapped with Care

Each year I say I am going to make my own gift tags and don't. Perhaps it is becasue they end up being tedius or I just run out of time becsue I left it too late.


This year I have them finished. The Top Note and Winter Post has made it so quick and easy.


I have applied double sised tape on the back to apply to the gift. After Christmas the tag may kept by the idividual to make a scrapbook page focusing on that family Christmas.

Stamps: Winter Post


Paper: Kraft, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White


Ink: Chocolate , Riding Hood Red, Craft White


I cut out the "Do not open until Dec. 25th" and popped it up with a dimional and added a little green and red using the Stampin' Write Markers and sponged thehocolate chip on the edges of the kraft c/s. If you are running out of time just eliminate the sponging and/or the popped up sentiment. Have fun with it.

Punch It Out

I remember seeing a tutorial on making a conifurous tree using the scallop circle punch and (I am sorry I' don't know who it is) it was so cute. I am waiting for "Lovely As A Tree" stamp set to arrive but in the mean time this will be perfect.

Paper: Pacific Point, Confetti White, Old Always, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green

Ink: Real Red, White Craft, Versa Mark

Embellishments: White Embossing Powder

Each tree was made using one scallop circle and sponging the edges with white craft ink. By marking the center with a pencil or paper piercer and from the edge to the centre 5 scallops, 4 scallops, and 2 scallops. The trunk was made by using the word window punch. I ripped two layers of confetti white to from the snow hills.

Holiday Card Challenge

One of the fun challenges Heather gave us at our Demo Christmas Dinner last Friday was to make a Holiday Card using only the cardstock she had sent us. We could add any neutral card stock and other embellishments besides the red grosgrain ribbon that was sent and our choice of stamp.

It was amazing how each card was so different yet using the same product.

This is the card I made using "Christmas Classics". The stamped image and sentiment was heat embossed using clear embossing powder .

Time for some Fun...

I will post a little later this morning but for now I just wanted to let all my readers know that Heather Summers will be on Achannel Morning (London) this coming Thursday at 7:20am. Heather shines in front of the camera especially when she is demonstrating and talking about Stampin' Up! projects for the Christmas Season. This will be Heather's third appearance on Achannel Morning. So remember to tune in or set your PVR/VCR.

Our daughter Nicole loves to help me bake especially at Christmas time (she gets to wear the apron she bought at Old Navy a few years ago) and so we thought it would be nice to host a cookie party with some of her friends. Tied to the invitation using Chocolate Chip 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon is a gingerbread cookie cutter. The invitation was made using the Top Note Die in Kraft c/s and the sentiment is from the stamp set "All Year Cheer II" and the gingerbread man is not from Stampin' Up!

Flurries

Well it is a slushy morning here in the
"Banana Belt". We were fortunate and missed the storm; we did get rain & snow last night and so buses are running as usual. I must say it was very pretty when the huge snowflakes were gently falling last night.
Every morning I have coffee with so many stamping/blog friends and while ready Kimberly's blog I knew I had to case her card. This card is so simple and so pretty. The snowflake and Ski Slope Designer paper is from the Holiday Mini which you can still order from up until January 18, 2009.

Merry Christmas

There was no going to bed early Thursday night when I saw this project on Splitcoast Stampers by Sharon Johnston. This was so fun and easy to make. I was very pleased how it turned out.

Last night was our Christmas Downline Dinner at Heather's home and I wanted to make a little gift for her. I was so pleased with the way this accordian tag turned out so I wrapped it up for her as a hostess gift.

Stampin' Up! and inspiration from fellow stampers makes it so easy and inexpensive to give hand made gifts. It feels so good to give little gifts and the "awhs" I receive in return makes me happy.

Winter Post

I CASED this card from on Kimberly and could hardly wait for my stamp set - Winter Post which by the way is a part of Shelli's Signature Collection. I really like the colour combination and simplicity of this Christmas card.

All Shook Up

I just love these shaker cards. My friend Heather is the talent behind this project and showed me this quick and easy way to create shaker cards. This little box holds four cards and of coarse I took one to Stampfest on Saturday and did not take a picture of it.

When you open this card there is spot to place a photo and the other side can have the Holiday sentiment.

Mr. Twigster

I Case (copy and share everything) most of my ideas from my extremely talented friend and upline Heather Summers.

When I first saw Mr. Twigster in the Holiday Mini, I did not take a shining to him.

After seeing so many cards made by Heather, I soon fell in love with him. I am not sure why I ever thought so poorly of Mr. Twigster in the beginning because he is so cute and a lot of fun.

Stampfest 2008

I had the priviledge to attend Stampfest 2008 in Cambridge on Saturday and I have to say I am so inspired . I had the priviledge to hear two fabulous speakers - Kimberly Van Dieppen and Glenda Travelstead who are very talented and successful Stampin' Up! demonstrators from the U.S.A.

I participated in a Christmas card swap, observed some talented ladies present 6 class outlines. Andrea designed and prepared this Christmas Planner as our make and take for us that is so fun and yet practical. Isn't it great!

Inspired By Nature

I enjoy going for walks on trails through the woods- I enjoy the quiet, the sounds of birds and the beauty of nature all around me no matter what the season.

When I take my dog Boston for a walk in the neighbourhood, it seems forever and it is only a half hour and I can hardly wait to get home. When I take Boston for a walk on a trail, I can walk for an hour and a half and it seems like no time at all. Nature has a way of making me feel at peace.

Perhaps this is why I fell in love with this stamp set.

This project was inspired by Heather and Anne. I have stamped showing you an intense cone flower as well as a soft muted flower by changing the ink colour.

I learned how to make this bow from my friend Martha and it is so easy to make. How fun it is to wrap a package or make a gift bag/box like this shown on the right and have a matching bow.

Holiday Trinkets Christmas Cards

As promised, here are the fun cards we made at the GI Cancer Research Fundraiser on Saturday.

All the cards are fun, quick and easy to mass produce.

We used the Ski Slope Designer Paper which I absolutely love. The stamp set we used was Holiday Trinkets and everyone went home with the set. We used Stampin' Up! classic ink pads in real red, old olive, baja breeze and chocolate chip along with 5/8 inch chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and a little silver cording.

The cards were left blank and each individual could add there own sentiments.

Tomorrow I will show you the 3-D items we made.

I hope you took time out of your day today to reflect and remember all the heros who fought for the wonderful country we are so blessed to live in today.

I was swept away by my dear friend Barb (by the way I had a great day Barb) and took a road trip to Komoka, Lambeth and Belmont today but at 11:00am we listened to the post and had our two minutes of silence to remember our fallen heros of yesterday and today and also our heros who are still with us today who gave so much. Thank you to our War Veterens.

Holiday Trinkets for GI Cancer Research

What a fabulous day it was for everyone attending the GI Cancer Research Fundraiser on Saturday.

Heather, my upline extrordinaire is very passionate about raising money for GI Cancer Research and orchastrated a fantabulous stamping event held at Kings College in London which by the way is a great venue to host an event like this.

With 150 ladies attending in either a morning session or afternoon session, making 10 super cute, super fun Christmas projects all proceeds going towards a cause very dear to Heather. As well there were door prizes; including a Big Shot to be won, raffle tickets with donations from generous businesses/organizations, 50/50 tickets, and refereshments. Heather and her team raised almost $3000 in memory of her Dad (Terry Cowx) towards GI Cancer Research. Congratulations on another successful fundraiser Heather.

Later this week I will post projects everyone made but for now I would like to show you a photo of Heather's team sporting the Holiday Trinkets tee shirt. Missing from the photo was Annette and Belinda.
